On the weekend of April 28th to 30th, I will once again be volunteering as a Ride Marshal for the 2017 Face of America Ride.
For two days, my fellow volunteers and I will be helping more than 600 disabled and able-bodied riders, some on hand cycles, ride from the Pentagon to the historic battlefields of Gettysburg. From millennials who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, to grizzled Viet Nam vets, they will be proving to themselves that they can go the distance. For some, this will be the first time they have truly felt alive again after being cajoled away from Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval Hospitals by their comrades.
For the last five years, these two days will be the most inspiring hard work I do all year. It is hard to put into words how it feels to have our wounded warriors call me "sir" and thank me for what I am doing for them, after they have given so much for all of us.
Please help support me in this inspiring inclusive ride that honors injured military veterans by contributing generously. For more information about World T.E.A.M. Sports and the non-profit's many supportive outdoor sporting programs and events for disabled and able-bodied athletes, visit their web site. Their financials page includes details about this 501(c)(3) organization.
It is faster and easier than ever to support this inspiring ride by making your tax-deductible donation online using the link below. If you would prefer, you can send your contribution to the address listed below. To make a donation by credit card, please visit my online personal page for the Face of America 2017 ride.
Whatever you can give will help - it all adds up! I greatly appreciate your support.
