The Team returns for the 11th year as part of World T.E.A.M. Sports's Face of America ride Saturday April 29th & Sunday April 30th 2017.
More than 44 team members will ride their bicycles (over two-days) from the Pentagon in Arlington, VA to the historic battlefields of Gettysburg, PA. We have many embedded wounded, ill & injured athletes on our team - a blind veteran on the back of a tandem bike, combat wounded Marine pedaling himself again, and several others disabled from service-connected injuries or illnesses; and 7 high school JROTC cadets participating with one of their cadre. Regardless of background, each of our riders honors the U.S. military — veterans & active duty, able-bodied riders, and those with disabilities — and is participating to celebrate the American Spirit.
The 110 mile ride is fully-supported with rest stops, SAG vehicles and dedicated mechanic support.
It's an opportunity to share stories and build camaraderie with America's wounded warriors. It's a way to help them heal and return to their life goals.
It's a way to honor their service and make new friends from the seat of a bike.
Team Strength & Honor has historically led non-corporate teams in fundraising over its history - able to raise nearly a quarter million dollars for this great cause - so that wounded veterans can participate and progress with their rehabilitation.
The Face of America ride changes lives.
