Face of America Liberty Participant Registration

Riders at Face of America Liberty will travel approximately 54 miles along the beautiful Hudson River valley from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York to Manhattan Island. Riders will pass through New Jersey before transferring to a ferry, then ride bike trails through Manhattan to the conclusion at the World Trade Center.

Participants may register as individual riders, or as a member of a team. Some teams are actively seeking participants. You may also create a team to recruit additional riders.

Adaptive athletes first completed our online qualification questionnaire. Those athletes who were selected for the ride were contacted by email and provided with a special registration site address. When the category is full, we will accept additional candidates as replacement riders in case registered athletes drop out.

Ride registration fees and fundraising minimums for civilian, active duty military/first responder, and retired military participants are listed below. World T.E.A.M. Sports covers the entry fees for all registered athletes with disabilities.

Registration includes the Sunday continental breakfast and lunch.

Face of America Liberty 2017 JerseyAll registered participants receive the commemorative Face of America Liberty 2017 cycling jersey at ride check-in at the north parking lot at West Point's Buffalo Soldier Field. The VOmax Classic Club Short Sleeve Jersey is a club cut jersey made for comfort, and features a dye process that keeps colors vibrant and crisp. VOmax cycling jerseys are made from a state-of-the-art moisture wicking fabric called MicroDry. It features raglan sleeves, a full length concealed zipper, and a high collar. Review the VOmax sizing chart to determine your correct size. Here are some details about the jerseys:

  • Lightweight high performance cycling jersey
  • Over-locked seams ensure proper fit that will withstand wear and tear (Over-locked seams create a stronger hold between fabrics, making it harder to become loose from wear and tear)
  • 3 rear-positioned racer pockets offer secure storage and easy access
  • Microdry fabric wicks moisture away from skin (wicking refers to the ability of the fabric to move moisture away from the body and the fabric itself; this can help keep the body dry and cool even when the person sweats from exertion)
  • Men's jersey waists are finished with no elastic
  • Women's jersey waists are finished with a no gripper

Participating athletes with disabilities will receive direct e-mail or telephone communication from the Face of America Liberty adaptive rider coordinators following registration. You must actively communicate by email and by telephone with the coordinators to confirm your participation.

Adaptive Athletes Registration

Adaptive military veteran, civilian and first responder athletes first completed our online rider qualification questionnaire prior to registering. The questionnaire opened August 14, and accepted applicants through August 25. Successful applicants were notified by email message the week of August 28 and provided with online registration information. Athletes who miss the questionnaire open enrollment deadline were invited to complete the application and join our waiting list until its closure in late September. Waiting list athetes will be invited by email to register when openings occur owing to medical reasons, official orders or other unexpected athlete withdrawals.
