Participants and teams who meet specific fundraising incentive goals at Face of America 2017 will receive special recognition and lodging benefits.
Adaptive Athlete Challenge: All participating athletes with disabilities are encouraged, but not required, to raise funds at Face of America to support the ride and ongoing World T.E.A.M. Sports inclusive athletic programs. All adaptive athletes with disabilities are encouraged to raise at least $100 toward their participation. Returning athletes with disabilities who are participating in their second or greater Face of America, and who travel to the event at their own expense, may participate in our Adaptive Athlete Challenge. The three leading fundraisers in this group of athletes will be recognized at our Friday evening banquets for their contributions and each will receive a special Face of America commemorative item.
Lodging Challenge: All riders who raise at least $3,500 in donations by the April 14, 2017 incentive deadline are eligible for reimbursement for Friday night lodging at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC-Crystal City or at the Crowne Plaza King of Prussia Hotel by World T.E.A.M. Sports. This incentive reimbursement includes only the room rate and tax. Any incidental charges, such as parking, food and beverage outside of the scheduled group meals, Internet access, phone calls, etc. will be the responsibility of the participant. World T.E.A.M. Sports will notify by email those riders who have met or exceeded this qualifying fundraising goal. Qualifying riders must submit by email their reimbursement request and room receipt to World T.E.A.M. Sports no later than Monday, May 15, 2017.
Any participant who raises $4,000 by April 14, 2017 will receive a special commemorative Face of America 2017 gift package. This package which will be mailed to the recipient following the conclusion of the event. The leading participants who raise the most funds in all categories will receive recognition and a special commemorative Face of America 2017 package to be awarded at the Friday evening banquet.
Team Challenge. To encourage team challenges, if you are a member of a registered Face of America team, and your team meets the total fundraising minimum as a group, you will be considered to have met your minimum goal. Example: if you are a member of a civilian team of 10 riders, and your team has raised over $8,000 collectively, of which you raised $500, you and all members of your team will have met the fundraising minimum. Even if you are a part of a team that is collectively raising funds, each participant should raise at least $10 toward their team total. Team captains can monitor the total fundraising for the team. The team that raises the most funds in all categories by Thursday, April 27, 2017 will receive recognition and a special commemorative Face of America 2017 package to be awarded at the Friday evening banquet. The leading teams by category will be announced at the banquet.
To be eligible for incentives, except as noted, fundraising goals must be met by Friday, April 14, 2017.
